Morning Mug Wrap

Well, these are a ton of fun.  This MUG Wrap Cozy is meant for your morning mug of coffee.  The Mug Wrap Cozy is a bit longer than a cup cozy, to accomodate the width of a breakfast mug.
Most of these new designs are being made from my stash of Wool Yarns. They are easy to wash & keep ready for your next hot drink!  I hope you enjoy these new additions to my collection of Cozy's.

Granola Time...

Today was granola making day again!  You know how it goes - we are all in the kitchen mixing things & most of it ends up on the floor...?  Oh well, at least I know that's the day the floor gets cleaned!  It makes me feel good to fill our cereal container once a week with fresh cereal.  Oats, nuts, coconut, honey & dried fruit are a great way to start the day.  This time of the year I put pumpkin seeds, pumpkin & cinnamon spices into the mixture - yum!

Mug 'Wrap'

Yes, they are finally here! I've been wanting to do a Cozy Mug Wrap for the longest time. Everytime I make one that fits over the handle of the mug, it's a bit too high for my liking. This is a wrap around style that will button around your mug & the height of the Cozy shouldn't interfere with your lips! These Mug Cozy's are flexible enough to fit a few different mug styles. The button fits snuggly into the stitches & allows you to get it as tight as you need it to be.

Of course, this is a great way to decorate your morning coffee mug, differentiate your mug from the others in the office, & absorb the little sip spills that dribble down the mug - but it will also protect your hands from the heat of the boiling hot mug (if you are the type to hold on to the mug instead of the handle...?) However you use it, it's a fun addition to your morning addiction! Change up the color to be seasonal.

To clean, simply hand wash in warm water with a mild detergent and lay flat to dry in order to retain shape.

To-Go-Cup Cozy 'Wrap'

This is one of my new 'wrap' designs for your To-Go-Cup. I have fallen in love with this idea & hope you enjoy it, too.  The Cozy simply wraps around your cardboard cup & the button fits snuggly through the stitches to adjust where you need it to.  The one in this picture is made from a Faded Denim Wool Yarn with a Coconut Button - very sustainable!!

I hope you enjoy this new style - It will match the new Cozy Mug Wraps that are coming soon.

Rainy Day Experiments!

Today is a rainy, dreary 'crochet day' - I've been experimenting with all the yarn stash & crochet needles I have!  I have recently fallen in love with any type of wool blend yarn.

This is a Shorty Bow Cup Cozy made from Royal Purple & Heather Gray Wool Yarns.  I really like this new bow & will probably make some more to add to this lonely creature!

Walnuts Again?

It's fall again.  There are so many wonderful things in my back yard right now - The walnuts are plentiful & I couldn't help but chuckle at the amazing color similarity between this wool yarn & the outer shell of these walnuts!  Photo opportunity.  I love this Lemon Grass Wool color even more now & feel very inspired!  Where are you finding your inspiration?

Chocolate Mocha

Well, this new Shorty Cozy couldn't be any different (for my style)!  I found this Chocolate Acrylic Yarn at the bottom of my grandmother's yarn basket & started crocheting a Coffee Cozy with much hesitation.  For some reason, I just wasn't sure about the color or type of yarn.  Now that it's completed, I couldn't love it any more - It's very chocolately & warm with the brown on brown color - Perfect for your cup of hot chocolate or cafe mocha drink!!  The yarn is a substantial acrylic that will hold up for a long time, as it tirelessly protects you from hot liquids in your cup.  This Shorty Cup Cozy is accented with a leather button I've been holding on to from the button box.  Not sure that I'll be able to part with this one!

Bright & Cheery

Two new bright, cheery wool yarn Shorty Cup Cozy's in the shop - Robin's Egg Blue & Lemon Grass Green - wow!  There's something about these bright colors that make me feel energized, although I'm finding my cozy feelings still wrapped up in the colors of fall right now - we are having many brisk cool nights that bring on lots of snuggling!  These vibrants are a perfect compliment to each other.  Enjoy the buzz without all the caffine!

Mommy & Me...

We do our share of visiting the local gourmet coffee houses, as I love my coffee!  My kids have always gotten the 'Kids Drinks' off the menu, simply because they are the right price as well as the right portion of Hot Chocolate or Vanilla Steamer.  Each time, I can't help but fall in love with the petite little cups they are served in.  These coffee shops do a fabulous job of making sure the kids drinks are the perfect temperature.  But, I couldn't help but think it would be adorable to have a Cup Cozy for these little petite cups - not to protect their hands, but to match Mommy's Drink Cozy!  Your little one will be excited to have a Cozy, snuggly wrapped around her drink to look just like Mommy's!  I'll have to work on this idea a little more.

Celebrate Fall

I'm not sure that I'm ready, even though I've been thinking about it for weeks - Fall is coming quickly.  Next week to be exact - September 23 - Yikes!

I enjoy picking pumpkins with the kids; snuggling;  roasting marshmallows;  sitting around the fire on the patio;  hayrides;  sipping yummy hot drinks to keep me cozy warm;  colorful leaves falling in my back woods;  finding acorns all over the ground;  warm spicy apple cider;  pumpkin pie with chocolate drizzle & extra whipped cream; one last mow of the lawn;  crocheting in my bay window - and all of the many things that my mind evokes when thinking about the cooler temperatures.  But, now I'm a bit saddened because the summer is leaving us again for another year.  Let's get on with the snuggling!

Blushing...

Blush Heather Wool with Zinnia Pink Flower
It's a pink day around here.  My daughter just got her hair cut short & is not sure that was a good idea.  I think it's fun & bouncy, as it allows her natural curls to actually curl.  Not to mention how sweet her face looks with all that fluffy hair surrounding it.  A crochet headband would be a fun touch too - have to work on that, huh?  Here's to feeling femine & girlie today as you try something new with your hair, without regret!

This Blush Heather Wool Classic Cup Cozy is a bit understated by itself.  But, when you add the Zinnia Pink Wool Flower, Pow!  Enjoy this Girlie Cozy that has quite a bold feminine flair.

Cozy at the Library!

We went to the library to do school for the day - one of our favorite hangouts!  Had to take coffee and hot chocolate to keep warm, while the air conditioner blasted us!  Hope your day is full of learning & cozy moments.  These are a couple of pictures that capture the Cup Cozy hanging out at the Library.

A Hot Chocolate Day?

OK - I am in the mood for Hot Chocolate!  I have no idea why.  I am a Coffee Girl, through & through.  Sometimes the thought of warm frothy chocolate & whipped cream makes my mouth water.  Today is one of those days!  The kids are glad for this & that is how we are starting our day.  I hope this doesn't put me on the 'bad mommy' list...but, I am willing to risk it!!!  ha ha.

This Shorty is made with an Organic Chunky Cotton Yarn embellished with a Chocolate Brown Cotton Flower & Coconut Button - Enjoy this Shorty Cup Cozy made to celebrate those 'Have to have Chocolate' moments!

Shorties...

Today was a day to do nothing but watch football - I don't say things like this often!  There are always many things to do around the house - cleaning, wash, cooking, organizing, preparing for school, crafts, yard work, cleaning cars, grocery shopping, etc.  I have a tendency to be a bit over-the-top with chores & organization.  Today, it just didn't matter because football season started & there were special foods to be made & sitting around to be done - it felt good!  (tomorrow I'll probably work overtime!!)

A new set of Shorty Cup Cozies is coming to the shop - They are a little shorter than my original design, but the same width (they will fit 16-20 oz. to-go-cups).  These new cuties are approximately 3" tall.  They are big enough to keep your hand from touching the steaming hot cup, but still make a fun, stylish impact on your plain cardboard coffee experience!  Do you like them Short or Tall?  Maybe try them both!!!

Today...

Wool Yarn patiently waiting for me!
Today was a maze of great things - Church with my family, socializing with friends, studying, watching my hubby use his God given talents, & helping my daughter through a rough time.  I don’t think I could have asked for a sweeter day full of blessings!

Life has so many distractions with electronics, work, school, cleaning, cooking, etc. – don’t forget to take time to be with the ones you love & appreciate the privileges we are offered each day.

Crocheting is easy to sneak in during the day - this is something I have learned with much experience!!!  My yarn can go anywhere & be inconspicuous while I teach a math or grammar lesson - shhhh, don't tell.  Anyway, this Yellow Cup Cozy is a fun addition to the collection of Flower Cozies.  I hope you are enjoying your day, whatever you may be doing!!

New School Year Begins...

September already?  Oh my.  It's the first day of school here at our house.  We've started our 9th year of homeschooling & things are off to a great beginning!  I'm sure there will be some hick-ups along our way, but I am anticipating a fun year filled with much learning, organization & fun times with my kiddos.

I looked at my yarn basket longingly today & wished that I could sit & crochet, but that was a no-no for today's schedule.  Here's a Blue Cup Cozy with a Heart in honor of Back To School Day at my house!!

Fall in Love

I realize Felt Play Food has not been #1 on the list lately.  As I ready this house to begin homeschooling for the 9th year, I've become obsessed with my little Coffee Cozies (any excuse to delay...)!  For some reason, the thought of a warm cup of coffee (tea or hot chocolate) makes me feel cozy & safe.  After a rough summer of heat here in PA, I am excited that fall is coming & we will have a new school routine.  These Coffee Cozies are in the works for the Autumn season.  'Fall' in love with these beauties made from 100% Wool & Recycled Cotton Yarns...

Coffee

Everyone knows that I Love Coffee.  I make a lot of these Reusable Coffee Filters in many sizes for myself & those who share my passion.  I love to see them chosen to be part of an Etsy Treasury.  Here they are, among other special things!

Bye Bye, Lavender

The close of the summer season marks the end of my Lavender plants in bloom.  I made some more little purple clutches to celebrate the coming end of the season.  They measure about 7 1/4" wide & will be perfect for those little trips to the store or for my daughter's many trinkets!  This project also uses up some of my 'not-so-used' felts, fabrics, interfacing & buttons!  Don't you love using those little scraps & pieces that hang around just waiting for a new project to give them meaning & purpose...?!

Stormy

Been away for a little bit.  The recent hurricane didn't cause damage to our home via flood or tree damage.  But, we did lose power for 4 days!  Let me just say that I know we rely on electric for many things, I just didn't realize how stranded you can feel without it.  Although I had a lot of safety plans in place, there are only so many things you can plan for.  Once we rescued the food out of our fridge/freezers & put it in a safe place, we left town to be together & enjoy some away time.  I had some time to think about what's going on in our lives & put things in perspective.  I hope that everyone who experienced effects of the recent storms is now finding a calm relief.

A new stretchy soft yarn - 100% Superwashed Wool - Robins Egg Blue - reminds me of a storm!
