More New Yarns...Yikes!

Some more new yarns for my stash (I'm spending too much on yarn lately).

This yarn is a 100% Superwashed wool in vibrant Zinnia - do you feel the energy?  Found some wooden buttons on sale & had to have them, too.  This one is dark wood with bright pink tones - perfect with this pink yarn.

This yarn is a blend of Lambs Wool & Acrylic in Blush Heather - understated & calm!

This yarn is a Chunky Weight Acrylic in Golden - fun & thick!

Feeling Blue...?

Well, my favorite color is Blue.  It will come as no surprise that when I found these 2 blue wool yarns & started making the Coffee Cozies, I went nuts (Faded Denim & New Denim)....!  Now everyone I know is going to have to have one of their own.  The fiber is very soft & delicate with a subdued light & dark stonewashed color.  Either one of these colors will look amazing with your favorite jeans!  You're going to love it.

Rugelach Cookies!

Rugelach Cookies waiting for a Tea Party!
Rugelach Yum-Oh!  My family call these cookies 'mini crescent roll-ups'!  I usually make them around the holiday season, although they rarely come out this perfect & sweet.  We put a nut/raisin mixture in the real cookies.  These pretend cookies have a brown filling that can be anything you like - nut, chocolate, raisin, or nutella.  They measure approximately 3" long x 1¼” wide - 6 cookies will come in a set this fall.

Wool for Autumn/Winter

I've started working with wool & wool-blend yarns for the autumn/winter line of Coffee Cozy Sleeves.  Some of these yarns are repurposed, some are organic & some are wool blends.  I am amazed at how different it is to work with, compared to the cotton yarn.  These wool fibers are so light & graceful, yet when crochet together, elegant & durable.  I think I have found a new love - my crochet needle glides effortlessly & the projects become even more enjoyable, as my anxiety melts away!!

Look for some of these Wool Coffee Sleeves to come in greens, blues & purples.  I will continue looking for new yarns to experiment with - any ideas?

This picture shows a Chartruese Cozy with Coconut Buttons that will cheer you when the weather gets dreary!

I recently found out that there are a lot of people allergic to wool.  The wool taken from sheep contains a natural oil that is responsible the reaction - This oil (lanolin) contains an wool alcohol that triggers allergies.

Bats in my Belfry!

Last night - dinner & conversation with friends at my favorite restaurant.  Today - Bats!  I just can't get them off my mind...

This year I decided to design a bat to add to the shop.  No, he is not a play cookie - he is an ornament!  Hang him on a package;  give him to a co-worker;  surprise your children in their lunch box;  etc.

In the evening, we enjoy sitting together on the patio, lighting a fire, talking about the day & waiting for the bats to begin their flight - They come alive in the dusk hours & are quite acrobatic in their movements.  This little guy is a fun representation of these soft tiny creatures!

Design an adorable shape.
Cut pieces out of felt.

Add a jute hanger.
Stuff with scraps.
Sew together.

A Remake...?

Ha Ha - This Bow Tie Pasta & Eyeball Set will be so much fun for your little goblins this year!  Instead of putting meatballs in the set, I put eyeballs.  Who knew a plain pasta dish could get such a fun makeover for the fall season???  I'm still working on the details & color & size, but look for it to be listed in the shop for autumn.  Your suggestions are always welcome!

Stolen Moments

As head cheerleader in this house, I find the stolen moments crocheting Coffee Cozy's a welcome relief from anxiety. Although I try to find a 'creative outlet' in most of my tasks thoughout the day, sometimes a project must have definition - It's Coffee Cozy Makin' Time!!   Now, if I could just find a way to sell these cuties more effectively..?!  Enjoy your 'stolen moments' doing something that makes you feel warm inside.

Italian Bow-Tie Pasta

One of my favorite dishes - Italian Pasta with Tomatoes & Basil - Yum!  I'm not sure who has more fun playing with these felt pieces, me or the kids...

The soft Bow-Tie Pasta go into a pot on the play stove, then into a strainer to drain in the play sink.  Finally, top this Italian Meal with Cherry Tomatoes & Basil - Impress your guests while tossing the ingredients.

I made this little set for a new 3-year-old friend of ours.  I think she's going to love it!

Iced Sprinkle Sugar Cookies

Ready for the oven...!

Well, it's back to the basics around here.  I remember a few years back when all the pretend felt cookies had beaded sprinkles on them. Although we're having fun, being creative & thinking outside the box, I miss the beads & sprinkles!  I think felt food is getting slightly 'complicated' & these new sets are simple:  Pretend Iced Sugar Cookies with beaded Sprinkles.  No fancy stitching, tin, box, plate or basket to complicate things!  Girlie Pink, Chocolate or Rainbow Sets.   They are so basic, yet so full of sparkle & sweetness.  Just what your little pastry chef needs in their pantry, cookie jar or oven.  Get 'em while they're hot!

Summer Strawberry Basket

Ripe Strawberry Basket
There is something so special about Strawberries - They symbolize summertime with their bright colors & juicy sweetness, and they are the perfect addition to any Tea Party!  I designed this new set full of plump red strawberries (large, small & slices) - Imagine how cute it will be in the middle of the next Tea Party table or sitting in the play pantry. It's sad to think of the summer months slowly fading away, but this Strawberry Basket will be a welcome treat anytime of the year for your little ones!

Update...

Shop will be slowing down for a little break - So many things to work on around here & so little time!  My husbands business moved into our house & we are having fun with all the paperwork that comes along with that.  Spending time with the kids doing tie-dye & hemp projects during their summer break. Getting our paperwork & books ready to begin the new school year.  And working on some fun new felt projects too.  See you soon!
